Looking for a Green Business
The Sacramento Sustainable Business Program is looking for environmentally proactive businesses. We’re a free service which promotes and encourages businesses, organizations, and government facilities in the Sacramento River Watershed to:
• Conserve Energy • Conserve Water • Reduce Waste and Pollution • Recycle and Purchase Recycled Products • Implement "Green Building" measures
Over 125 businesses in Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, and El Dorado counties have already been certified sustainable. Recently certified businesses include: IKEA and Raley’s Distribution Center in West Sacramento; Solarecity Electric in Rocklin, Dos Coyotes Café & Fairway Carwash in Roseville; Delta Dental & Lighting Science Group in Rancho Cordova; Eco-Chic Design in Lincoln; LFR Inc. in Granite Bay; Cosumnes River Preserve, in Galt; Starbucks Coffee in Folsom; Mechanics Bank in Elk Grove & El Dorado Hills; American Home Sales in Auburn; The Bo Tree & Studio 66 in Davis; Velocity 7 in Nevada City; Raging Wire in Natomas; and Lucas Public Affairs & Café Bernardo in Sacramento.
Your business can participate by calling (916)649-0225. We will provide an easy to use checklist for each of the 5 categories, with suggested sustainability measures. You can select examples on the checklist, or may propose other sustainability measures. The certificate reflects the category icons in which a business has been certified.
By simply taking measures to reduce waste, conserve resources, and prevent pollution, a business or organization can place the distinguished Sacramento Sustainable Business Program (SSB) sign at their location.
There is no cost to participate in The Sustainable Business Program. It is made possible through the sponsorship of the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District (SRCSD), Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), the Regional Water Authority, the Water Forum, and the Business Environmental Resource Center.
