Uhler sworn in as Placer County District 4 Supervisor
Placer County Supervisor Kirk Uhler took his oath of office Wednesday and is preparing to start his seventh year representing the Fourth Supervisorial District. Uhler first served from 1993-1996, and was then appointed in 2006 to complete the term of Ted Gaines after his election to the State Assembly. Uhler ran unopposed for a second, full four-year term last spring. “I am honored to continue serving the people of Placer County,” Uhler said. “Our county faces unprecedented fiscal challenges that will require numerous difficult decisions. We must commit ourselves to finding and eliminating barriers to economic development and job creation while prioritizing our spending to make sure that our citizens have the tools they need to remain productive. Adequate infrastructure and fire and sheriff protection are chief among these.” Uhler represents Placer County on the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency, and is the chairman of the South Placer Regional Transportation Authority, which is the lead agency on the construction of the Placer Parkway, a vital transportation link between Highway 65 and Highway 99/70. In addition to serving as the representative of Placer County’s Fourth Supervisorial District, which encompasses the community of Granite Bay and parts of Roseville, Uhler is the Vice President of Government and Industry Relations for Roseville-based Solar Power, Inc. He, his wife, Tami, and their two children live in Granite Bay.
