The Sierra College women's soccer team opened league play with a 2-0 win over American River College. Lauren Rossi scored unassisted, while Janna Ylimaki scored off a pass from Anne Taylor.

Head coach Jason Gantt called the win a, "solid effort from everybody."

The Lady Wolverines followed that up with a 3-0 victory over Diablo Valley College. Anne Taylor, Janna Ylimaki, and Audrey Richter all scored goals.

Late last month, women's golf handed Sacramento City College its first loss of the season as Casey Remy shot a 91, Cheyenne Gott an 86, Kathy DeYoung an 84, and Lynne Cowan a 71.

Women's volleyball went to San Jose to participate in the San Jose City College Tournament. The Lady Wolverines were 2-2, with wins against Porterville (25-22, 25-15, 26-24) and DeAnza (28-26, 25-20, 25-21). The squad lost to Shasta (24-26, 22-25, 16-25) and Feather River (11-25, 26-24, 25-12, 19-25, 11-15).

Following the tournament volleyball opened up league play with two wins, knocking off American River College 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-17) and Diablo Valley College 3-1 (27-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-21).

Volleyball plays Santa Rosa on Tuesday and the men’s and women’s water polo teams are back in action against Modesto Junior College Wednesday.
