Tyler Menard sets for GRanite Bay earlier this week against Del Oro.

Substituting freely from its deep bench, the Granite Bay High varsity boys volleyball team steamrolled another Sierra Foothill League foe Wednesday night.

The Grizzlies took care of business against Roseville in a three-game sweep - 25-12, 25-11, 25-22.

Similar to its play in a victory over Del Oro the previous day, the Grizzlies exhibited strong ball control and clean passing. In this contest, Granite Bay also puts its power game on display with a variety of strong kills, solo blocks and service aces.

In each phase of the match, coach Bruce Honberger used a number of player combinations, with no dropoff in the result as the Grizzlies never trailed in any of the three games.

Granite Bay now heads south for the this weekend's prestigious San Diego Invitational, where the Grizzlies open with nationally third-ranked Punahou (Hawaii) High School. The Grizzlies return to Sierra Foothill League action next Tuesday against the Whitney Wildcats at home.
