Roseville man suspected of soliciting sex from 15-year-old
A Roseville man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of soliciting sex from a 15-year-old boy. Nery Fer Alvizuris, 27, allegedly passed a note to the boy as he exited a city transit bus on March 9. The note reportedly contained Alvizuris’ cell phone number and an offer for cash in exchange for sex. The boy reported the incident to his mother, who in turn called Roseville police detectives. The detectives then used the cell number to set up a sting operation. Posing as the underage male bus passenger, a detective sent text messages to the suspect’s phone and made arrangements to meet with him. Alvizuris met with detectives on Saturday and was arrested on suspicion of contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sex crime. He is currently being held in the Placer County Jail on $100,000 bail. "This incident highlights the need for open communications between children and their parents or other trusted adults," said Roseville police spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther. "The teenager in this incident did the right thing by promptly telling his mother about the suspicious person and note."
