I am so concerned when I see all the tall grass and weeds growing where the 49 Fire started. These poor people are still rebuilding their homes. I can’t understand why the city and county of Auburn let this happen.

We used to live in Southern California, San Bernardino County. There was high wind and fires often. In Southern California property owners had a certain date to disc, weed-eat and clean up their property.

If the property owners didn’t comply by that date, the city or county would send a work crew out to clean and disc their property.

The property owners would be billed for the clean-up if they didn’t comply with that clean-up date. If they didn’t pay the bill, then it would be attached to their property tax bill each year.

Everyone complied with the rules and why isn’t something like this being done in Auburn?

Please, we don’t need another fire.
