Koch brothers pull the strings
Reader Input
The “Visual Viewpoint” cartoon by Ed Stein in the Sept. 6 Auburn Journal says it all. Two of the people behind the billionaire funding for the “we’re taking back our country” Tea Party folks are the Koch brothers (Charles and David). Their combined wealth, as owners of one of the largest private oil companies in the country, is succeeded only in the U.S. by (Bill) Gates and (Warren) Buffett. According to an Aug. 30 article in the New Yorker magazine entitled “Covert operations; The billionaire brothers who are waging a war against Obama,” by Jane Mayer, the Koch brothers are the very secretive guiding force behind the Tea Party, bent on controlling the minds of those who can be led. The Tea Party movement isn’t the grassroots phenomenon they would like you to believe, but rather a well-organized and financed campaign fueled by the likes of the Koch brothers and others whose main strategy is creating fear and their strongest tool is their fortune. Their goal: Kill any chance of the Obama administration pulling the country out of the mess which the Kochs and their Wall Street cronies created, while hiding behind their “hoodwinked” followers. They are the invisible epicenter of the Anti-Obama Movement. Leslye Janusz, Auburn
