A look at how Roseville is commemorating the ninth anniversary of 9/11 on Saturday:

WHAT: The Roseville Fire Department will host its annual, public memorial with a helmet presentation and stair climb to honor the 343 firefighters, 60 police officers and eight emergency medical technicians and paramedics who perished on 9/11.

WHEN: 8:46 a.m.

WHERE: Roseville Fire Training Tower, 2030 Hilltop Circle, Roseville

WHAT: The Woodcreek Jr. Timberwolves will honor servicemen and servicewomen with a special presentation by the Placer County Sheriff Department’s Color Guard during the Jr. Pee Wee game. Admission and lunch for those wearing uniform or showing official ID will be provided complementary.

WHEN: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

WHAT: The All American Speedway will pay tribute to local first responders and military during the national anthem before a race. The Roseville Fire Department will bring a ladder truck and equipment for display, and Sacramento Ironworkers will bring a piece of steel from the World Trade Center. The steel memorial, donated from New York Ironworkers, is a piece of an “I” beam from the Twin Towers. The artwork on the I-beam shows the skyline of New York and the Twin Towers. Placer County Sheriffs and Roseville Police will also be present. Active military and first responders in uniform, or with photo ID, will be admitted free to the grandstands.

WHAT: The Granite Bay Grocery Outlet is offering 10 percent off groceries for military, firemen, police officers and sheriffs. There will also be activities in the parking lot and inside the store for kids, including games, face painting and a clown. The South Placer Fire Department, Veterans of Foreign Wars, National Guard will be there.
