Zero tolerance traffic enforcement operation Wednesday
The Roseville Police Department traffic enforcement officers will be conducting a zero tolerance traffic enforecement from 6-10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, The officers will focus on Cirby Way near Riverside Avenue, although they may also patrol other major thoroughfares. Motorists caught traveling at unsafe speeds and committing other traffic violations will be ticketed.
Roseville's traffic officers have noticed too many motorists traveling at unsafe speeds through the Cirby Way widening project area, between Foothills Boulevard and Vernon Street. "Motorists do not seem to be getting the message to slow down in this construction zone," Roseville Police Department traffic sergeant Marc Glynn said in a news release. "This creates real hazards for construction workers, as well as other motorists." Motorists are reminded to allow plenty of extra time and "slow for the cone zone."
Funding for Roseville's special traffic enforcement operations is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
