Top 10 – Diary of the Blogger Rookie

Blogger Rookie

1. Find a passionate topic you like if you like horses well Google horse blogging.

2. Read them carefully and find someone that matches your personality.

3. Ask them how they started

4. Start commenting as soon as you can. It helps to get your feet wet and the other bloggers will appreciate any positive or informative information you may have.

5. Find a blog site that works for you not to hard to understand. The Auburn journal was my big day out. I had put a few comments out there and one or two topics but never committed to the forum like I did at the journal and I have to say it is my favorite. They have a crack team of monitors and it is easy to use.

6. Find a layout that fits you. The journal doesn’t have layout choices maybe one day ; ) but with other sites you can design you layout in many ways I recommend start simple and add thing you find interesting on other blogs like a link via twitter or flicker.

7. Understanding the formats to build your own blog here is a list of types

a. With comments – In the set up settings

b. As a diary – In the set up setting

c. Or live – Like on the journal

8. Try to be consistent it helps people feel like they are living it with you. If you choose training horses well make sure you share all your exciting moments good or bad it makes your real.

9. Now the most important thing I can say it take pictures! If you have a phone use that a lot of blogs will let you up load it right to the site so you can retrieve it later when you are on-line. Pictures give reader a feeling of being there.

10. Have fun don’t let it run your life because if you spend to much time blogging and responding you will not have the life we want to hear about!!

That’s it I don’t know if anyone is reading this or not but I will tell you I have enjoyed doing this it was for me a trial by fire, Possibly because my grammar is a little off at times :) but I couldn’t let that hold me back anymore. My life is full of adventures as a working mom and busy wife and if this just becomes a boring day in Sandy’s life so be it.

You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it."
