Get your kids on their bikes and into action at Roseville Bikefest Oct. 4, an annual bike safety event organized by the Roseville PedalSafe Committee.

From 9 a.m. until noon, families will get a chance to learn about important safe bicycling techniques while participating in fun activities.

Held at Quail Glen Elementary School at 1250 Canevari Drive, this fun, free and family-friendly event held will feature obstacle courses, riding demonstrations, helmet fittings and bike inspections, and a free bike giveaway. Bike helmets will be given to participants who have damaged, unsafe or ill-fitting helmets.

Roseville Bikefest also includes public safety displays, and special appearances by Sparky the fire dog and McGruff the crime-fighting dog. All participants will receive free prizes and refreshments will be available for purchase.

Families wanting to learn about bike safety while having fun are encouraged to attend this free event. All kids attending must have a registration form signed by a parent or guardian to participate.

Registration forms will be available the day of the event or can be obtained in advance at the city of Roseville Transportation Division, 401 Vernon St, Roseville, or on the event Web site at www.roseville.ca.us/bikefest.
